Women’s Grand Final - 31.8.19
28 Aug 2019 by Rebecca Plozza
While the 2019 season is unofficially over for the Seniors, Reserves, A & B Grade (as these teams have a bye this weekend), there is still plenty going on at the Club, starting with……
U/17s, C & D GRADE
Our u/17s, C & D Grade Netballers are heading to Berwick Springs for the final round in 2019. Our Netballers came away with the win last time they meet and we hope it can be 3 from 3 again this weekend.
WOMEN’S TEAM GRAND FINAL
It has been a stellar year for our first Women’s team.
They began the year slowly, playing a practice match against Park Orchards where they only kicked 1 point. But our Women’s team went on to start the season with a bang, scoring a 62 point win over Thornton-Eildon. And from there, they haven’t looked back.
They head into the Grand Final against Monbulk on Saturday 31 August 2019 at 5.30pm at Healesville Sporting Complex. Let’s get as many supporters there cheering them on!
DIV 2 SEMI FINAL
Before the Women’s Grand Final, we are hosting the Div 2 Semi Final, and we need as many helpers as possible in the canteen, booth and bar. If you can spare a couple of hours from 10am until after the Women’s Grand Final, please comment below with your preferred time.
LAST MAN STANDING
LMS was run and won again this year.
A huge thank you to Rob and Daniel Plozza for selling the tickets, to Chris Plozza for the yummy finger food during the day, to Graham Mende, Geoff Stock and Ash Hay for jumping behind the bar and pouring the beer. It’s always a big day and without our volunteers, it wouldn’t happen.
Our winners this year were:
3rd prize: Dean Martin
2nd prize: Jason van den Brook
1st prize: Beck Plozza
Also a huge shout out to everyone that turned up (even the Seniors/Reserves who showed up in their Silly Sunday outfits!) and to everyone who bought a ticket.
FINAL TRAINING SESSION
Our Women’s team hit the oval tonight for their final training session before the weekend.
The Clubrooms and bar will be open, so come on down, grab a drink and something to eat (the chefs in the kitchen are cooking up schnitzel and salad) and watch the team’s final training session.
PRESENTATION NIGHT TICKETS
Kym will be at the Clubrooms tonight for anyone that wants to pay for their Presentation Night tickets. Tickets are $100 per person for 3 course meal and 5 hour drinks package. It’s going to be a ripper night so don’t miss out!
Go Bloods!
