Wow! What a weekend!
Firstly, congratulations goes to the Seniors for their gutsy first win of the season over Upwey on Saturday! It was typical winter footy weather, with a bit of rain(!), a light breeze(!!) and even a little ray of sunshine, all within 4 quarters. But our Seniors got the job done and came home with the 4 points.
Our Women’s team took home another win, beating Belgrave at Belgrave on Saturday night. The conditions were not ideal, with the ground more like a swimming pool than a footy oval at one stage, but our team dug the boots in and got the win.
And our Vets secured their top of the ladder position with a win over Narre Warren at Narre Warren on Sunday. With a bye for the final round of their home away season, the Vets will be resting the hammies before their finals campaign begins in 4 weeks.
Special mention goes to our Reserves and Netballers who, each week, show the trademark Bloods determination and commitment. Although it was a little tougher on our regular Reserves list last week, each player took to the field and court and gave 100% – and our Committee and supporters could not be prouder of that!
THURSDAY NIGHT DINNER
Our President, Greg Hay, and Committee are putting on dinner this Thursday night after training, to say thank you for your commitment so far this season. Our chefs will be cooking up sausages and veggies, and we hope to have as many people come in for a meal, cold drink, a chat and maybe one lucky person will take home…
JOKER POKER!!!
It’s still going!!! The jackpot is up to $1,950 – just imagine winning all that 💰💰💰 and heading somewhere ☀️ for a couple of days (Monday to Friday only guys, you still have to play on the weekend!!)
GAMES THIS WEEKEND
On Saturday, our Netballers, Reserves and Seniors are hosting Berwick.
And on Sunday, our Women’s team are hosting Upwey – game starts at 12pm.
UPCOMING FUNCTIONS
Tayla Pinkster has been marketing hard, so please don’t let all her hard work be for nothing. Get your ticket(s) to our Mid-Season Ball via our Events page or see Tayla after training on Thursday night.
Our functions so far this year have been so much fun and we would hate for anyone to get FOMO (for the older generation reading this, FOMO = fear of missing out).
Also coming up is Women on Track, an event hosted by one of our new sponsors this year, Healesville Greyhounds. It will be a great day, so if you haven’t RSVP’d already, you have until 12 July to do so. Posters with the details are around the Clubrooms, or see below. This is a great opportunity for us to support our sponsor, plus have a fabulous time doing it.
Go Bloods!
