This weeks news

15 May 2019 by Healesville FNC

It was a big weekend, full of footy, memories and Mother’s Day! We hope all our Bloods Mums had a wonderful day.

It all started with a great win by our Women’s team on Friday night against Yarra Junction in very wet and cold conditions. Next up was our Netballers, Reserves and Seniors who hosted Narre Warren on Saturday. Although the win eluded our teams, every single player left everything out on the field and court – our Committee and Supporters could not be prouder of that determination and never give up attitude.

It was also our annual past players reunion on Saturday – Andrew Peters did a fantastic job of MC’ing the event, with plenty of stories and memories being shared between players from the ‘69 Seniors, ‘89 Reserves and ‘99 U/18s premierships. A big thank you to Drew Young and Ddm Munky for organizing the day.

TRAINING THIS WEEK

Tonight, our Women’s team is joining up with the Junior girls for their second combined training session at the Don Road oval, with a pasta dinner to follow. Both the Seniors and Juniors are looking forward to repeating the success (and fun!) from the first combined training session.

Our Seniors and Reserves are having a light training session tomorrow night, followed by dinner at the Terminus. All of our supporters are welcome to join them for dinner.

GAMES THIS WEEK

With Interleague on this weekend, our Netballers, Reserves and Seniors have a break this week. Congratulations to our own Jake Roe-Duggan for being named in the Interleague Squad!!

Our Women’s team is taking on Upwey at Upwey on Saturday at 12pm and our Vets are taking on Narre Warren at home on Sunday at 3pm. Both teams are looking to continue their winning streak and it would be great to have our supporters cheering them on at each game.

Also, if you can lend a hand in the bar or canteen on Sunday (even if it’s just for an hour), please let Beck know.

ELECTRONIC SCOREBOARD

It’s not too late to donate to our new scoreboard fund. We are a long way from our target to match the grant from the Federal Government, and every dollar helps! Ways to donate are set out below.

SPONSORS

This week we want to thank our new sponsor, Robinson Gill Lawyers, for coming on board and supporting the Bloods.

And we thank our returning sponsors for supporting the Bloods again this year:

- Grand Hotel Healesville
- Fast Freddies Tyre Service

Remember – support those who support us and shop local first!

Go Bloods!
